Before deciding to live in a complex, it’s important to check the by-laws of that building. To make the most of your experience and avoid issues, get approval from the owners corporation before bringing a pet into your home

Getting permission will also help you understand any restrictions or conditions with the approval. Your landlord may be okay with pets, but the owners corporation might not be. If you’re buying a unit, ensure your sales contract includes a condition that the owners corporation approves of you having a pet.
